My 19th great grandfather, Stephen III was the Duke of Bavaria and the son of Duke Stephen II and Elizabeth de Aragon, Princess of Sicily. He ruled Bavaria with his brothers from 1375 to 1392 when the kingdom was split into duchies. He was of the House of Wittelsbach of Bavaria and a grandson of the Holy Roman Emperor Louis IV.

two things

1. word of advice: sometimes those ancestry trees dont make sense. for example, how many of my ancestors had kids when they were 12 or younger?  not a lot, i think. sometimes, people dont even read their trees at all. i have seen several people who had kids years after they died. pay attention to what you read and closer attention to what you publish. i am very sure that there are mistakes in my trees and i am always looking for them. may never find em all but am trying. with that said, dont take any thing i publish as gospel either. many of my cousins and i still havent broken through all the walls yet and probably never will solve all the mysteries of the family tree.

2. ordered the ancestryDNA kit looking for it to arrive soon. will let you in on the results when they come back. early predictions? irish, scottish, and english blood, and german.
